Anand Deverakonda is taking the footsteps of his brother Vijay. For the first-time, Anand has chosen an intense love story, Baby. The film’s trailer has been unveiled today. It is indeed promising. The film revolves around the first love right from the school-age.
The very opening shot of the trailer showcases a shocking look of the protagonist Anand in a bushy beard. And the film swiftly shifts to the backstory where the lead pair is seen in school-age and love each other. While the girl Vaishnavi (Vaishnavai Chaitanya) is studious, Anand is a 10th-failure who turns out to be an autorickshaw driver. Things change when the girl goes to town for college. That’s where she befriends another guy (Viraj Ashwin). An ordinary village girl changes as she is introduced to a new world and atmosphere. Anand gets suspicious as Vaishnavi keeps avoiding him. There is one dialogue of Vaishnavi where she says, “You think you are Arjun Reddy?” And there is another dialogue where she says, “Mee Antha Balam Lekundachu…Kani Gundela Meeda Kottalante, Maakante Gattiga Inkevvadu Kottaleru.” This sums up what Baby is all about. On surface, it seems to be a triangular love story. But there is pain and depth in characters and their emotions.
Writer-director Sai Rajesh stays honest to the storytelling and doesn’t deviate from the main plot. The film’s main plot has been revealed. The tone and mood of the film is set. Visuals are appealing. Music composer Vijay Bulganin seems to have provided complementing music. Overall, the Baby trailer is intense and has youthful moments all over. Produced by SKN, the film is all set to release in theatres on 14th July, 2023.
