Adipurush Writer Issues Unconditional Apology

Published by

Manoj Muntashir, the dialogue writer for the film Adipurush, has issued an “unconditional” apology following the controversy surrounding the film’s release last month. In a note shared on social media platforms, Manoj acknowledged that the film had hurt people’s sentiments and extended his apologies.

“I accept people’s emotions have been hurt by Adipurush. With folded hands, I extend my unconditional apologies. May Prabhu Bajrang Bali keep us united and grant us strength to serve our sacred Sanatan and our great nation. #Adipurush,” Manoj wrote in his message.

Directed by Om Raut, Adipurush is an adaptation of the epic Ramayana and has faced heavy criticism post-release. Various dialogues in the film, such as ‘marega bete,’ ‘bua ka bagicha hain kya,’ and ‘jalegi tere baap ki,’ have drawn criticism.

Post that, the makers of Adipurush made changes to the dialogues. However, the controversy had already caused damage.

Initially, Manoj defended his work and he even told that the movie was not inspired by Ramayana but then it too attracted criticism. Now, when almost everyone had forgotten about the controversy, Manoj had issued this apology.

Adipurush features Prabhas in the role of Raghava, Kriti as Janaki, Sunny Singh as Laxman, and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh.
