Few heroines start on a high note with their debut film and that puts them on a high pedestal, thanks to Telugu producers who are patronising such hotties by offering them hefty remuneration. One such trending starlet is none other than Mrunal Thakur who has only one hit film to her name to date, Sitaramam.
Currently, reports are doing rounds that she is charging anywhere between ₹3-4 crores per film in Tollywood, while in Bollywood it is hard for her to manage at least a crore. For #Nani30 she’s said to have received ₹3 crores, while she took more than that for Vijay Devarakonda’s film.
At a time when a busy star, and far more better actress as well as glam diva like Sreeleela is pocketing only ₹1-1.5 crores, many are wondering if Mrunal is worth this hefty pay. As she’s not even a successful star in Bollywood, her presence won’t bring any special attention to these films in Mumbai circles as well. So what’s making the producer shell huge money to rope in this 30-year-old hottie?
Some say that the lack of mid-range star heroines pushed the likes of Nani and Vijay towards this new talent. As these heroes are charging anywhere between ₹25-30 crores, producers are not minding paying ₹3-4 crores for Mrunal, whose debut success might come in handy at the time of selling the film to distributors and exhibitors. Her role as ‘Sita’ in Sitharamam has huge craze in Telugu audiences. And if the actress has to prove that she’s worth the pay packet, she should score some back to back superhits.
