Director Gopichand Malineni is teaming up with Mass Raja Raviteja for the fourth time and their film was announced other day. With the director repeatedly giving interviews to various newspapers saying that this time he is showcasing the star hero in a new dimension, doubts are popping up about the content. And the clue he has given in the announcement poster is enough to trigger loads of speculation.
The poster consists of the name-board of a village ‘Chunduru’ and that is now giving doubts if the film has this deadliest massacre on Dalits as the central point.
Back in 1990 and 1991, a rift between the Dalit (Mala) community and the landlord Reddy community of Tsunduru village in Andhra Pradesh led to many conflicts. After prohibiting the Dalits of the village from working and buying groceries in the village, nearly 221 people from upper castes attacked the Dalits in a cold-hearted manner and hacked more than 20 persons to death.
This is one of those worst and bloodiest incident in the history of Andhra Pradesh state. Are Raviteja and Gopichand bringing this incident to the screen with a touch of commerciality is something we have to see.
However, there might be a lot of repercussions just in case if this incident is brought to the silver screen as only time has passed all these years but the scars from the incidents are always fresh in the minds of the people involved, both attackers and victims.
