The Mumbai Police imposed restrictions on gatherings and movements in the city with section 144, due to the big rise in COVID-19 cases. There were 2378 cases reported on just Wednesday, leaving the total number of cases at 1,75,974.
This section 144 imposed will be in the act from midnight today until the end of this month, while the unlock exemptions remain the same. The DCP operations issued the order under Sec 144CrPC and are going to remain applicable until September 30.
Except for essential activities and supply of essential goods and medical emergencies, all movement of one or more persons in the areas designated as ‘containment zones’ is prohibited.
The Banking, Stock Exchange, Clearing Corporation, Stock Brokers, and SEBI registered participants operating through the institutions are permitted to function, while the food, vegetables, ration, milk booth and other stores to remain open.
Hospitals, pharma, pathology labs, medical nursing colleges, and medicine will be open. Along with these, telephone, internet services, electricity, petroleum, oil, media services, e-commerce delivery, and other non-essential commodities are permitted to function.
