Other day, the media interaction of Tollywood’s top composer SS Thaman made one thing clear. The talented maestro stated that his directors and producers are happy with his output, work and quality, while fans are the ones who are carrying the unwanted expectations. Are Thaman’s statements holding some reality? Or do fans really need to tone down their expectations? Let’s explore.
Thaman the other day refuted all the rumours regarding his exit from Guntur Kaaram and blamed people on Twitter for spreading such malicious lies. At the same time, he clarified that fans aren’t fully satisfied with the output of Markandeya song from Bro. On that note, many film analysts are advising both Mahesh and Pawan Kalyan fans to tone down their expectations from Thaman.
As the composer’s terrific work on films like Akanda, Bheemla Nayak, Krack and Ala Vaikuntapurramlo has set the bar high, every time people are expecting him to meet that, and do something bigger than that output. So in a way, it is fans who need to tone down their expectations regarding the composer’s output. But there is another side too.
Fans are complaining about Thaman’s music not because their expectations are met, but actually, the music is regular too. There is no newness and awesomeness in the recent compositions of the top composer. The background score he’s giving is not thumping and energetic, while the song-tunes are also so catchy.
Rather than working on that, if Thaman keeps on saying that fans are expecting more, and filmmakers are happy with his output, he might soon do a self-goal. End of the day, it is fans and music lovers who should love the output of the talented composer not just his producers and directors alone.
