Recently that happened with dusky siren Pooja Hegde who became a superstar in Tollywood and then started trying her big ticket luck in Bollywood as well while she had a dismal start there earlier. And here comes another siren, who is going in a similar fashion now, though she has much bigger options.
After raising to fame with Lust Stories OTT film, Kiara Advani did back-to-back films in Tollywood, including Mahesh’s Bharat Anu Nenu and Charan’s Vinaya Vidheya Rama, and then rose to fame in Bollywood with bigger hits like Kabir Singh and Good Newzz. Though she scored a big blockbuster last year with Bhoola Bhulaiaya 2, she has now seen a hat-trick of flops in a row.
Her latest theatrical release Satyaprem Ki Katha was promoted by critics as a hit, but the movie fizzled out at the box office in no time. Previously, her OTT release Govinda Naam Meraa and theatrical release Jugjugg Jeeyo haven’t won the attention they were expected to. That gave her three flops in a row, and she now has only one big-ticket entertainer in hand, which is Ram Charan’s Game Changer.
Though connections with Karan Johar and other biggies of the industry will easily help Kiara Advani pocket many opportunities for sure, a lack of solid blockbuster-film might push her out of the big league where actresses like Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon are rocking with repeated successes. If Kiara doesn’t get a couple of hits immediately, she might face some drought like a Pooja Hegde, feel observers. Let’s see what happens.
