Star Tamil brothers Suriya and Karthi’s philanthropy and social service need no introduction. Already, Suriya’s Agaram Foundation has been striving to help the poor and needy students students and bring a positive change in the educational sector across the state.
Now, Karthi’s touching humanitarian gesture for farmers and villagers is winning everyone’s hearts. The actor, through his Uzhavan Foundation, collaborated with Amphenol Omni Connect India Pvt. Ltd. in his new mission.
Karthi oversaw the repair works of the13 kilometre long Sooravali Canal in Radhapuram, Thirunelveli district. This canal facilitates water to 8 lakes which supply water to nearly 10,000 acres of agricultural lands in the surrounding areas. Also, 10 villages will be getting water from this canal.
The repair works were completed within 21 days at a cost of Rs 4 lakhs. Karthi had acted as a farmer in the film ‘Chinna Babu’ a couple of years ago. Since then, he developed a strong passion for farming and empathy for the farmer’s community.
