Out of the blue, not only did the talented Rana Daggubati surface at the San Diego Comic Con 2023 but also he announced a plethora of projects being bankrolled by his own production house Spirit Media which is known as a VFX studio to date.
And with the Baahubali star announcing Hiranyakshipa movie, director Gunasekhar, who was earlier supposed to make that flick with Rana, posted a cryptic tweet too. But here’s what both should know.
Apparently, many movie lovers are of the opinion that after Gunasekhar failed to mesmerize with Sakuntala-Dushyantha’s story, which is carved as Samantha’s Shaakuntalam, surely it will be a big risk to entrust him with the job of making Hiranyakashipa movie.
And then, if Rana Daggubati wants to make a big VFX film of this story, surely he needs a big director but not Trivikram’s writing prowess alone. However, there is another general thing everyone needs to understand.
The story of Hiranyakashipa originates from the Hindu mythology that is in place for thousands of years. So there is no way either Gunasekhar or Rana will claim copyright over that.
Anyone can make a film out of that story, but what matters is who would present that well. Like the way Ramayanam got spoilt by Om Raut and Prabhas’ Adipurush in recent times, hope these filmmakers don’t play crazy with Lord Vishnu’s Narasimha avatar related story this way.
