Right now, the mindset of film-loving audience in India is to watch something spectacular on the silver screen as other routine content they could watch from the comfort of their homes. And that brings us to the point of how these three Hollywood movies have turned out to be money spinners at the box office.
A couple of weeks ago, Hollywood’s most hyped film Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One opened at the Indian box office on a high note. All three versions including English, Telugu and Hindi have so far helped Tom Cruise register his first ever ₹100 crore grosser in India.
And last Friday, two big movies, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and other film Barbie hit cinemas. Nolan had a huge fanbase in India and the movie’s ₹48+ crores nett collection from the first weekend shows the power of his filmmaking. Even Barbie collected ₹18+ crores nett in the first weekend. That’s like a hat-trick of Hollywood hits at the Indian box office right now.
While the Telugu box office has seen some back-to-back blockbusters like Samajavaragamana and Baby, Bollywood hasn’t seen yet another money spinner after the iconic Pathaan. Now that Hollywood is also delivering superhits, surely every other big Hollywood film will be a competitor for the local markets now. Filmmakers, note this point!
