Other day, Tamil Movie Artists Association The Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) has passed an ultimatum to Tamil Industry producers that from now only Tamil artists should be employed in Tamil movies. This led to a widespread debate because when Tamil actors are featured in almost all the leading tinsel towns in India, how could they pass such a resolution in the name of Kollywood’s welfare? But no biggies have responded on that until Pawan Kalyan came into the picture.
Speaking at the pre-release event of ‘Bro’ movie, Pawan Kalyan stated that Tamil industry should come out of this narrow thought process and think beyond boundaries. “Bro movie is crafted by a Tamilian Samuthrikani, has cinematography by Keralite Sujith Vasudevan, if featured North Indian girl Urvashi Rautela, and dresses were designed by Pakistani origin Neeta Lulla. Only if people from all the regions join forces, great films will be made”, said Pawan Kalyan, asking Tamil film industry to rethink their decision.
“Don’t get into that narrow thinking; blur boundaries and make great films like RRR. AM Ratnam is a Telugu guy who made movies like Roja and Gentleman for you, and took your industry to a new high”, he further added. “An artist should not have caste, creed and religion but think beyond that”, said Pawan Kalyan on a closing note. Well, it is a daring move by Pawan Kalyan to say this and surely his words might hurt a lot of FEFSI members.
At the same time, Pawan Kalyan appreciated Samuthirakani for learning how to read Telugu for the sake of directing BRO, and promised that he will also learn how to read Tamil very soon and give a speech in Tamilnadu.
