Powerstar Pawan Kalyan commands a solid fan following and his box office clout in Telugu States and Overseas needs no special introduction. His films usually take a stupendous opening in all territories irrespective of the season. This is why buyers don’t bat an eyelid when producers quote exorbitant prices for the theatrical rights of his films.
Quite surprisingly, his upcoming film Bro is not able to generate the much-required hype ahead of its release this Friday. Going by the current trend of advance bookings which are fairly decent but not on par with the range of Pawan’s stamina, Bro is likely to fall short of the trade expectations. However, we have to wait and see if the momentum picks up in the next two days.
It is true that Bro is entirely riding on Pawan’s charisma. The film garnered solid hype when the Bheemla Nayak actor was roped in for a special character beside Sai Dharam Tej. However, the underwhelming teaser and the substandard work by SS Thaman for both songs seem to have impacted the buzz to some extent. Moreover, as it is a remake helmed by a Tamil director, the buzz on the film among regular audiences is on the lower side.
The makers are hoping that the solo release at the box office will help Bro take a good opening. They are banking on good word of mouth and positive reviews for the film to have a solid first weekend.
Directed by Samutrakani, the film has dialogues and screenplay by Trivikram Srinivas. Kethika Sharma and Priya Prakash Varrier will be seen in significant roles. People Media Factory and Zee Studios have jointly bankrolled this film.
