Most of the time when Tamil filmmakers make original films in Tamil, they go for poetic titles but when they remake them, they come up with some ‘massy’ titles. And that upsets lots of Telugu movie lovers. Even director Samuthirakani who named his film Vinodhaya Sitam (which means silly mind in Tamil), has titled the Telugu version as ‘BRO’ which features Pawan Kalyan and Sai Dharam Tej as the leads.
When interacting with Gulte.com, Samuthirakani revealed that the title ‘Bro’ is very apt, sounds strong and goes immediately into the youths, and confirmed that as Pawan and Sai Dharam call each other ‘bro’ in the movie, it will be very believable. However, when quizzed if this is the original title they thought for the film, the director initially hesitated, but later revealed that the working title of the film is something else.
The team of this remake is said to have considered a lot of titles, but the working title of the film is “Kala Purushudu”. Apparently, that is sounding more massy and powerful, but Samuthirakani and Trivikram are said to have felt that this will lead to the wrong expectations over the film’s content, hence decided to change it. They have even considered many other names of Kala Bhairava aka Lord Shiva as the Keeper of time, but have ditched them all for ‘Bro’.
