Firstly for a film to register a humongous Day 1 collection, surely it needs to create a huge buzz with its songs, teasers/trailers and with various other things. But Pawan Kalyan’s “BRO” got nothing sort of this as the film never had hype but became the talk of the town only after the pre-release event where the superstar’s fireworks speech is a blockbuster.
And then, the producers need to opt for ticket hikes in Telugu states to register more collections, but that too didn’t happen. So, what is the Day 1 collection like?
According to trade reports, Bro has collected nearly ₹13.5+ crores share from the Andhra region, while it minted only ₹8.2+ crores share from the Nizam region. Including all the regions like USA and other territories, trade pundits are indicating somewhere around ₹26+ crores ‘share’ while the people close to the production house stated that the film made ₹30 crores ‘share’ as there is no deduction of distributor share in some territories with the film being People Media Factory’s own release.
While the mixed reviews might have affected a bit in A centres, looks like B&C centres will mint well on Saturday and Sunday. Pawan Kalyan’s swag, dialogues and political satires are working well in the Andhra region, while nature’s fury (rain and floods) in Nizam districts like Warangal have shown a significant impact on the collection.
However, if we look at first-day collections of PK’s latest movies like Bheemla Nayak (₹26+ crores in AP+TS) and Vakeel Saab (₹ 32+ cr) from Telugu states, surely #Bro has done a commendable job only.
