Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher played the lead roles in the upcoming Bollywood sports drama directed by R Balki. Shabana Azmi and Angad Bedi are also a part of the film. Titled Ghoomer, the film’s trailer is out today, and it promises to be heartwarming, laced with elements of motivation.
The trailer traces the journey of a female Indian cricketer who faces a life-altering accident, resulting in losing her dominant hand. However, a determined coach enters her life and becomes the driving force behind her transformation.
The underlying story of ‘Ghoomer’ draws inspiration from the incredible real-life tale of a late Hungarian shooter who overcame adversity after a serious hand injury and won two Olympic medals. Saiyami Kher’s portrayal of the paraplegic bowler and Abhishek Bachchan’s role as the eccentric cricket coach are expected to be noteworthy performances.
Before its theatrical release in India, ‘Ghoomer’ will be showcased at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne on 12th August. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on 18th August.
