A 13-year-old Telugu girl Keerthana from Ravulapalem has miraculously escaped drowning in Godavari river. She showed her grit and courage in the toughest time by holding on the pipe. She herself informed the police by dialing 100 even as she was holding onto the pipe with her other hand.
In front of her eyes, both her mother Suhasini (36) and sister Jersey (1 year old) have fallen into the river and gone missing. Still Keerthana didn’t lose hope and she showed her bravery. Keerthana held the pipe with her hands till the police arrived. All this happened in total darkness and fear engulfed her. If she slips, she may fall into the river Godavari. Ravulapalem SI Venkataramana and his team have arrived and rescued her. Police people were shocked by Keerthana’s bravery and her timely thinking by dialing 100. They lauded her efforts for holding on to the pipe for over 30 minutes in darkness.
Going into details, Puppala Suhasini belongs to Guntur district’s Tadepalli. She had fallen out with her husband and separated from him due to differences. Suhasini is living with her daughter Keerthana and making ends meet by working as a daily-wage labourer. Two years ago, Suhasini met Ulava Suresh from Prakasam district’s Darsi and soon started living together. Through Suresh, she delivered baby girl Jersey who is just one-year-old. Suresh and Suhasini fell out due to differences and Suresh decided to eliminate Suhasini and daughters Keerthana, Jersey.
Suresh hatched a plan to kill all the three and made them believe that he would buy dresses for them in Rajahmundry. On Saturday evening at around 4 pm, he took them in a car. He took them to various places and spent a good time with them till early Sunday morning. At around 4 am, Suresh stopped the car at the Gautami old bridge at Ravulapalem. He made them believe to take a selfie there and made them stand on the wall. He suddenly pushed Suhasini, Jersey and Keerthana into the river. While Suhasini and Jersey were missing in the river, Keerthana got hold of the adjacent pipe. Thus, Keerthana survived miraculously. Cops have formed two teams – one team to find the missing Suhasini and Jersey in the river Godavari and the other team to lookout for Suresh. More details are awaited.
