Tinseltown is buzzing with speculations surrounding Prabhas’ much-awaited projects, Salaar and Kalki2898 AD. As the grapevine suggests, both films are expected to break away from the traditional song-and-dance formula, opting for a different approach to storytelling.
Prabhas has always been a crowd-puller, with his movies often showcasing foot-tapping dance numbers and soul-stirring melodies. However, if the reports circulating in the film industry are to be believed, his next two ventures will depart from this conventional practice.
Starting with Salaar, the film directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Prashanth Neel, who catapulted to fame with the blockbuster KGF, the team seems to be taking a unique stance on using songs. According to insiders, Salaar will reportedly include only one song, which will also be picturized in a coal mine setting, fitting the theme and mood of the movie.
Ravi Basrur, the talented music director known for his exceptional work in the Kannada film industry, is on board to create the music for Salaar. Given his penchant for producing captivating background scores, the one song in the movie is expected to be strategically placed to enhance the overall narrative.
Moving on to Kalki2898 AD, a futuristic period film directed by Nag Ashwin, Prabhas embraces a similar approach. Reports indicate that the team plans to incorporate one or two songs in the movie. Santosh Narayanan, the versatile composer, has been roped in to lend his musical brilliance to the film.
Limiting the number of songs in both films is thoughtful, aiming to avoid unnecessary deviations from the central plot. By integrating music seamlessly into the narrative, the films are expected to maintain a strong focus on storytelling, creating a more immersive experience for the audience.
However, an official confirmation on the same is awaited.
