Megastar Chiranjeevi and Meher Ramesh’s upcoming film “Bhola Shankar” is all set to hit the theaters on August 11th, marking the director’s take on the Tamil blockbuster “Vedalam” (2015) starring Ajith Kumar. However, even before its release, the movie has become controversial due to Meher Ramesh’s comments about the original film.
In a recent interview, Meher Ramesh compared his directorial effort with “Vedalam” and made remarks about the presence of “cringe-worthy” elements in the Tamil film. He said Vedhalam is ten times ‘cringe’, but he chose not to do that with Bholaa Shankar. This statement quickly caught the attention of Ajith Kumar fans, who were disappointed and angered by the director’s words.
Members of the Tamil film community also voiced their displeasure over Meher Ramesh’s comments, with many unfavorably comparing “Bhola Shankar” to the highly successful original version. Such comparisons have led to a debate among fans and critics, raising questions about the approach and adaptation of the remake.
Despite the controversy, Meher Ramesh expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to remake “Vedalam” in Telugu. In a Twitter post, he acknowledged his admiration for the original film’s strong portrayal of the brother-sister bond and the sentiment that resonates with millions of people. He highlighted that he aimed to bring this sentiment to the Telugu audience through his version of the film.
As “Bhola Shankar” prepares to make its theatrical debut, the controversy surrounding Meher Ramesh’s comments has added an intriguing layer of anticipation for the film’s release.
