Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Bholaa Shankar turned out to be one of the biggest disasters in recent times. The weekday collections are shockingly low in many territories and they sounded a death knell to the film inviting no further discussion. The magnitude of this failure is so impactful that Chiru is now reconsidering his future commitments.
Chiru was in top gear before the release of Bholaa Shankar. After scoring a blockbuster with Waltair Veerayya earlier this year, Chiru immediately shifted his focus towards Bholaa Shankar and wrapped the shooting formalities in quick time without taking many breaks. Even before its release, Chiru signed his next project with Banggaraju fame director Kalyana Krishna. This untitled film was supposed to go on floors this month. Chiru planned to release this film as a Sankranti treat.
Unfortunately, the disastrous result of Bholaa Shankar seems to have now scuppered his plans completely. It is heard that Chiru turned extra cautious about his upcoming films. He has reportedly decided not to commence the shooting immediately. Instead, he will take a considerable break and reassess the scripts of his next projects.
Speculations are rife that Kalyan Krishna’s film is loosely inspired by ‘Bro Daddy ‘. Though the team categorically denied the rumours, there is a talk in industry circles that the script has a lot of similarities to Bro Daddy. So, Chiru wants to pay more attention to the script and then take call. He also wants to cut short his remuneration and ensure that the budget doesn’t exceed the limit set by the producers.
Chiru received a lot of criticism for his poor script selection and also for taking the audience for granted with Bholaa Shankar. Now, there is a lot of pressure on him to make a strong comeback. Before that, he will need to compensate for the losses incurred by the buyers of Bholaa Shankar.
