Superstar Rajinikanth has again proven his box office prowess with his latest film, “Jailer.” Even at 72, Rajinikanth’s charisma and star power draw audiences to the theaters in droves. The box office performance of “Jailer” in its initial six days has been remarkable. The film is expected to surpass the collections of Mani Ratnam’s “Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1” in Tamil Nadu, potentially becoming the highest-grossing film in the state. The latest trade reports indicate that “Jailer” has already entered India’s coveted Rs 200 crore club.
On the sixth day of its release, which coincided with a public holiday, “Jailer” experienced a surge in collections, estimated at around Rs 33 crore net in India. This impressive performance brings the total six-day collection to Rs 207.15 crore, with an occupancy rate of 81.59 percent.
In the Telugu states, the collection on day 6 is bigger than on the release day in many areas. The reports say that the film earned 10 Cr rupees on the sixth day. The film’s Telugu version is holding well in neighboring states as well as overseas.
Written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, “Jailer” is a commercial action entertainer that features an ensemble cast, including Rajinikanth, Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, and Tamannaah in pivotal roles. Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal, and Jackie Shroff make memorable cameo appearances.
