Filmmakers Raj & DK hail from the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh though they have made their mark in Bollywood. Time and again, this filmmaking duo tries to showcase their Telugu roots in each and every movie of theirs. Even in “The Family Man” they showcase the extended family of Priyamani as Telugu-speaking folks only. And here comes a scene in “Guns & Gulaabs” now.
Apparently, the series’ primary character Fourcut Atmaram (played by Gulshan Deviaiah) goes to a ‘hotel’ in Gulabganj which is named ‘Peddamma Mess’. Not only the food-mess is adorned with photos of various Telugu legends like Savitri, NTR, Jamuna and others, but the BGM in the scene is also Chiranjeevi’s “Dinakkutho Dinakkura’ song being played on the radio.
Also in the end, the hotel owner and Atmaram’s conversation in Telugu is mind-blowing for its cuss words. No doubt, those who are watching the Hindi version are enjoying this sudden Telugu scene that gives a surprising feeling.
On the other hand, the series met with mixed reviews from critics though Netflix is making the most of it as ‘Guns & Gulaabs’ entered the Top 10 charts already at the No.1 position and continues to stay there for a week maybe.
