If one films a big high to the career of a hero or heroine, they have to make sure that their immediate next will live up to the expectations of it. After the film “DJ Tillu” was released, Bangalore beauty Neha Shetty shot to huge fame as ‘Radhika Akka’ here and signed half a dozen movies. Her first outing post the blockbuster celebration came in the form of “Bedurulanka 2012” that released other day.
Forget about how the film’s doing or if the second half’s comedy is enough to hold the movie in theatres for a couple of weeks, but what surprised everyone is that the character Chitra played by Neha Shetty has no big importance in the story. Neither there is an arc, nor does she do a stupendous glamorous job like she has done in DJ Tillu that the audience will be going gaga over her.
While Neha is dazzling in some sensuous songs these days that are going viral, surely her mark and spark are missing in Bedurulanka. No doubt, the favourite Radhika Akka is promoting the movie a lot, but all that boils down is to what she has done on the screen.
Though Neha has films like Kiran Abbavaram’s Rules Ranjan and Vishwak Sen’s Gangs of Godavari lined up, she should seal another blockbuster role to her credit irrespective of the film’s result, which would actually cement her position as a star heroine here. On the other hand, the way she’s involved in promotions is making her producers quite happy.
