NIA officials seized 300 kg of heroin worth Rs 2,100 crore, along with firearms, from a fishing boat in Kerala on August 18. The agency has registered a case against several individuals, including Varalaxmi’s former assistant, under various acts, suspecting the contraband to have been smuggled from abroad.
Varalaxmi Sarathkumar has been summoned to record her statement about her association with the accused. The actress, known for her roles in popular films, has not yet commented on the situation.
This development has caused a stir in the Tamil film industry, as Varalaxmi Sarathkumar comes from a prominent family background. The NIA is likely to question her about her knowledge of the accused’s activities and any potential involvement in the smuggling case.
