Unlike the trend followed by the usual Bollywood films, the makers of Jawan took a U-Turn to organize the film’s grand pre-release event in Chennai. Shah Rukh Khan flew to Chennai to attend the event, and his speech has become a big highlight.
Speaking at the event, SRK initially thanked the venue management, Sai Ram Engineering College, and all the students who attended the event. Later, he remembered his connection with the Tamil film industry.
“Early on, I learned that the finest cinema comes from Tamil Nadu. I was fortunate to make two friends – Mr. Mani Ratnam and Mr. Santhosh Sivan. I came here and shot ‘Dil Se,’ which was my first experience with a Tamil film. After that, I worked with the incredible Mr. Kamal Haasan in ‘Hey Ram.’ And of course, there’s the greatest of all – my friend who came over one night and did a shot for ‘Ra. One’ – the legendary Rajinikanth sir,” said SRK.
The actor revealed how they zeroed down on Anirudh as the music composer. “I spoke with Atlee sir, and he mentioned this young talent (Anirudh), and asked if we could have a song by him in both the Tamil and Hindi versions of the film. I told him we should have all the songs by Anirudh. I’m extremely grateful to him for all his hard work.” said SRK.
SRK also complimented Yogi Babu that he is awesome and gave a shoutout to the entire crew that worked on the film by talking about editor Antony Ruben, DOP Vishnu, VFX Muthuraj, and others.
“I met Vijay Sethupathi in Melbourne, and then I met him at Nayanthara’s wedding. I can’t express how much I’ve learned from him. I just want to tell everyone that I’ve learned from him and take those learnings to the audience.” said SRK.
“There’s a young one I think of as my son – Anirudh. He’s telling me he’ll miss my calls; I hope he doesn’t graduate into Bollywood to the extent that he won’t take my calls. I’ll miss you, my son,” shared SRK.
Directed by Atlee, the film will have a grand release on the 7th of September.
