Salaar’s postponement shocked both the fans and the trade equally. Though the reasons for the delay are not divulged directly yet, the indefinite delay is confirmed for now as the US theaters have removed Salaar shows from their respective websites and also the distributors were informed about the same.
Cashing on the vacant long weekend, Ram Pothineni’s Skanda jumped in by moving their actual release date from September 15 to September 28. It is heard that Boyapati insisted on releasing Skanda on September 15th on the event of Ganesh Chathurthi, Ram and the producer locked the release for the Salaar date.
The sudden halt in promotions of Skanda left the fans of Ram in confusion, but it looks clear that the team is planning big promotions for the month-end outing. Except for Thaman’s update on a lyrical video, Skanda has not released anything new.
Already, the trailer garnered mixed feedback for the extreme mass visuals, and some even compared it to the disastrous Vinaya Vidheya Rama. Skanda needs to shed that image and the team is working towards releasing a new trailer cut to control the damage.
Now that the release date is fixed, Skanda has the right amount of time to attract the mass audience through proper promotions. Though Mad, Rules Ranjan, and Pedakaapu are heading out for the same weekend, Skanda seems to have an edge over them due to Ram, Boyapati, and Sreeleela in the team.
