As expected, Shah Rukh Khan’s latest film Jawan, opened big at the box office. Directed by Atlee, the mass actioner made a powerful entry into the box office. Released on Thursday, September 7, the film has garnered positive reviews from both audiences and critics and set a new record for the biggest Bollywood opening ever.
According to early estimates from trade pundits, the film collected a revenue of Rs. 65 crore from its Hindi version and Rs. 5 Crore each from its Tamil and Telugu versions, making it a total of Rs. 75 Crore rupees net on the day one at the Indian box office.
The reports suggest that the film surpassed the collections of SRK’s last film, “Pathaan,” which earned Rs 55 crore on its first day. It is anticipated that “Jawan” will also perform well in overseas markets, adding an estimated Rs 50-60 crore to its worldwide first-day earnings.
Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, the film features Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist, Nayanthara making her Bollywood debut as the leading lady, and a special appearance by Deepika Padukone, with a cameo by Sanjay Dutt in the climax.
