Muthiah Muralidaran is a legend in the world of cricket. His biopic is titled ‘800’. The film promises to tell his unknown story besides his well-known journey as a cricketer.
The film, directed by MS Sripathy, is going to be released in theatres on October 6 in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. The distribution rights to ‘800’ have been acquired by Tollywood producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad of Sridevi Movies.
“The cricketer’s childhood events are going to ignite the audience’s interest a great deal,” Krishna Prasad said. Muralidaran endorsed the script of the movie, written over a period of two years to ensure authenticity. Although Muralidaran gave a go-ahead, the pandemic delayed the commencement of the shoot. The right-arm off break bowler thanked Sridevi Movies for bringing the movie to theatres.
Muralidaran in the film is played by Madhur Mittal of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ fame. Mahima Nambiar is Madhimalar Ramamurthy, the former cricketer’s wife.
The film’s trailer was released recently. Sachin Tendulkar graced the occasion as the chief guest.
