‘Devil’ Director Takes A Sly Dig On Producer

Published by

Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s upcoming film Devil is mired in a controversy after the makers removed the name of the director from its posters. Devil was announced earlier this year by producer Abhishek Nama with Naveen Medaram of Babu Baga Busy fame as director. The first-look posters that were unveiled a few months ago featured his name. Surprisingly, his name went missing in the teaser and the recently released posters.

Buzz in the industry is that some creative differences cropped up between the director and the producer after a few weeks of shoot. So, Naveen took an unceremonious exit from the project. Abhishek Nama has reportedly donned the director’s hat as a replacement. While the recent posters didn’t feature the name of the director, the poster that was released yesterday explicitly stated that Abhishek Nama is both the producer and director of the film.

Reacting to the ongoing discussions, director Naveen Medaram took a sly dig at the producer through his Instagram account. He posted the Sanskrit adage ‘ Vinashakale Vipareethi Buddhi’ on his story which triggered further discussion on all social media platforms . Though Naveen didn’t mention anything about the film, it is obvious that his post is aimed at Abhishek Nama. Devil is slated for release on November 24th. It remains to be seen if the producer or the hero clarifies this controversy during the promotions or pre-release event.

In less than a week, Abhishek Nama grabbed the attention of industry circles two times. A few days ago, he tagged Vijay Devarakonda and asked him to compensate for the losses incurred by ‘World Famous Lover’ film.
