Megastar Chiranjeevi’s recent outing “Bholaa Shankar” turned out to be one of the biggest disasters in his career along the lines of SP Parasuram, Daddy and Mrugaraju. The film turned out to be empty in terms of footfalls by the evening itself on release day (August 11th). A month later when the film debuted on popular streaming site Netflix, fans expected that people would flock to watch it and make it a trending event. There’s the shocker now.
In a surprising twists of sorts, Bholaa Shankar, despite heavily promoted by Netflix through the standard YouTube video ads, hasn’t got the attention it was expecting. Quite surprisingly, Gopichand’s Ramabanam movie made it to the No.1 position in the Top 10 list on Netflix, while Bholaa is nowhere to be seen. Not even in the Top 10? Yeah, a Megastar Chiranjeevi film is not in the Top 10 while his previous outing like Godfather did extremely well on the streaming site.
Somehow this Meher Ramesh creation, which is said to have Chiranjeevi’s hand throughout right from script to casting to direction, hasn’t convinced and enthralled the audience. Forget about general movie lovers, it looks like even fans are not rushing to watch the movie on OTT, which otherwise it would have rocked in the Top 10 by Saturday, isn’t it?
