The legendary Telugu actor, Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s centenary celebrations took place in Hyderabad this morning, at Annapurna Studios. ANR, who was born on September 20, 1923, in Ramapuram, Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, is a revered figure in Telugu cinema. With a career spanning more than seven decades, he contributed a lot to the welfare of Telugu cinema.
On the occasion of his centenary, a statue of ANR was unveiled at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. The event was graced by several prominent personalities, including former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, who was the chief guest.
Many stars from the Telugu film industry attended the celebration to pay their respects to the iconic actor.
Members of the Akkineni family, including Akkineni Nagarjuna, Sumanth, Naga Chaitanya, Amala, and Akhil, were present at the event to honor ANR’s legacy.
Numerous other Tollywood celebrities, such as Mahesh Babu, Ram Charan, Allu Arvind, Brahmanandam, Murali Mohan, Srikanth, Jagapathi Babu, Rana, Manchu Vishnu, Nani, Dil Raju, Mohan Babu, and others also joined in the centenary celebrations, while Suma Kanakala hosted the event.
ANR’s contributions to Telugu cinema have left an enduring impact, and his centenary is a fitting occasion to commemorate his remarkable career and legacy in the film industry.
