Maestro composer SS Thaman is known for his masterclass blockbusters at the same time gets criticised when he gives below-par music. While some of his contemporaries like Anirudh are scoring blockbuster after blockbuster whether that is with a big-budgeted flick or a small film, Thaman’s success is limited to only a few projects. That’s becoming a cause of worry now and he’s getting pressurised from multiple angles they say.
Currently, the talented and highly-paid composer is putting the finishing touches to the background score of Skandha movie and after that, he has to start the re-recording of Balayya’s Bhagavanth Kesari movie. Though Ganesh Anthem from this Balakrishna-Anil Ravipudi film turned out to be a smashing hit, Thaman’s music for Skandha isn’t getting appreciation. Despite being Boyapati’s film, Skandha’s songs not getting much attention is worrying Thaman for sure. And the pressure is to deliver compelling BGM for Skandha.
On the other hand, while the background score song #HungryCheetah from Powerstar’s #OG turned out to be a terrific success, people trolled it as a ‘copied’ from a foreign song. At the same time, the leaked song from Ram Charan’s Game Changer is not at all convincing to fans, while the final output of it may be different for sure. Then comes rumours always that the songs tuned by Thaman for Guntur Karam are not getting unanimously approved by Mahesh and Trivikram.
Amidst all these pressures, Thaman has four more big films like Nayanthara’s 75th film, Nivin Pauly’s next and other projects. He has to prove himself once again all over with these films as the criticism of the quality of music he is delivering is at an all-time high now.
