“Chandramukhi” stands as a trendsetter in the genre of horror-comedy films. Rajinikanth’s iconic performance in “Chandramukhi,” along with Jyothika’s role, made the film a blockbuster hit in both Tamil and Telugu. Now, a sequel titled “Chandramukhi 2” is set to release on September 28, with Raghava Lawrence taking on the lead role and Kangana Ranaut portraying Chandramukhi.
Even before the release of “Chandramukhi 2,” director P. Vasu has shed light on the possibility of a third installment in the series, tentatively titled “Chandramukhi 3.” He explained that a hint about the sequel was given at the end of “Chandramukhi 2,” with a twist involving Vadivelu’s character.
However, the participation of Rajinikanth in “Chandramukhi 3” remains uncertain, but the Superstar seems to have laid conditions for the same. Rajini expressed his willingness to be a part of it, but it ultimately depends on the story and the outcome of the current film. If the second part becomes a hit and if the third part’s story suits his image, Rajini might consider doing the film.
Director P. Vasu offered insights into the story of “Chandramukhi 2,” mentioning that it would have a small connection to the first film. Lawrence mentioned that they worked hard to bring freshness to the character and avoided imitating Rajini’s mannerisms.
