The official trailer for ‘Yaariyan 2’ has been released, and while it is based on the Malayalam film ‘Bangalore Days,’ it fails to create the same impact. This is not the first time that Bollywood spoiled a South film, in the name of a remake. Anjali Menon directed the original which has later been renamed in Tamil.
What’s extremely disappointing is that those who watch this trailer will instantly develop a dislike for completely losing the essence of a beautiful heartwarming film made down South.
The trailer has left many viewers unsatisfied, as it struggles to convey the essence and emotion of the original story. The film stars Divya Khosla Kumar, Meezan Jafri, and Yash Dasgupta, who are stepping into the roles originally played by Fahadh Faasil, Nazriya Nazim, and Dulquer Salman.
‘Yaariyan 2’ is directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. The film’s release is scheduled for October 10, and it remains to be seen whether ‘Yaariyan 2’ will be able to live up to the expectations set by its source material or if it will be regarded as a disappointing remake in Bollywood.
