Three movies were released last week, and unfortunately, all three seem to be facing similar outcomes. Ram Pothineni and Boyapati Srinu’s “Skanda,” Srikanth Addala’s “Pedda Kapu -1,” and “Chandramukhi 2” tested luck at the box office but failed to meet the expectations.
Skanda, in particular, has become the target of severe trolling. Critics and viewers are poking fun at Skanda, claiming that Boyapati has created a film that lacks logic. Despite this, the film saw a strong opening at the box office. While it’s uncertain whether it will break even or not, it seems to fare slightly better than the other releases.
The situation for “Chandramukhi 2” is equally grim, with the movie being largely ignored. Some comments even suggest that “Chandramukhi 2” was made to tarnish the reputation of the original “Chandramukhi.” Unfortunately, it has added to the list of disappointments associated with Lawrence’s recent films.
Srikanth Addala shifted his gear from family dramas to action drama and came up with “Pedda Kapu 1.” Unfortunately, the film is branded as a misfire at the box office.
Despite these setbacks, one common thread among these films is the hint of sequels. The climax of these films teases the arrival of “Skanda 2,” “Pedda Kapu 2,” and “Chandramukhi 3.”
However, the fate of these sequels is uncertain, as they often struggle to materialize. It remains to be seen whether Boyapati and Ram will have the courage to proceed with “Skanda 2,” especially given the lukewarm response.
Furthermore, the shooting for “Peddakapu 2” has yet to commence, and the film’s budget may be in question considering the results of these recent releases.
Given the underwhelming response to “Chandramukhi 2,” it appears that this franchise may conclude with this installment.
