Four-time Nandi Award winning editor Marthand K Venkatesh commands respect in the film industry. He is one of the few senior film editors who is working on back-to-back movies. However, his statements in the interviews, of late, are giving an opinion that he is losing judgment.
In one of the latest interviews, Marthand K Venkatesh reacted to the failure of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s film “Bholaa Shankar,” directed by Meher Ramesh. While the film failed miserably at the box-office, the senior editor opined that the film was above average but it met with a failure because of online trolling. He even mentioned that Meher Ramesh had a track record of delivering four hits in his career. In reality, except for “Billa,” there is no success in Meher’s kitty.
Marthan K Venkatesh also revealed his opinion about Chiranjeevi ignoring Ajith’s transformation scene from the original “Vedhalam.” He believed that it wouldn’t align with Chiranjeevi’s image.
As soon as this interview went live, the netizens started trolling the editor that he is losing his judgement. Anyone who watched “Bholaa Shankar” would easily call it a below average product. Even the hard-core mega fans disowned the film and it shows how bad the film actually is. But, the editor claims it to be an above-average film.
On the flip side, the same editor also hurt Mahesh Babu’s fans in one of his old interviews. Previously, Marthand K Venkatesh generated hype for Mahesh’s “Sarkaru Vaari Paata,” by stating that it would become another “Pokiri.’ This statement before the release raised expectations but in the end, after watching the film, Mahesh’s fans were highly disappointed by the film’s preachy content.
With the latest comments on “Bholaa Shankar” doing rounds on social media, Mahesh’s fans are reminding how Marthand K Venkatesh made unrealistic comments for “Sarkaru Vaari Paata.” By doing this, they claim that he is completely losing judgement because of his old-school working style and not be able to stay updated with the ever-changing taste of audience.
