‘800’ Is Up For A Release On 1100 Screens In India: Sivalenka Krishna Prasad

Published by

Sivalenka Krishna Prasad of Sridevi Movies owns the theatrical release rights to ‘800’ in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi across India. Today, he informed the media that the big-scale biopic, which was shot in various countries and on cricket grounds in England, Australia, Sri Lanka and India, will be released on 1100 screens.

The Muthiah Muralidaran biopic has received a boost in the Telugu States with some of the biggest names chipping in as distributors. Dil Raju (in Vizag and Uttarandhra), Suniel Narang (in Nizam), Geetha Distribution and others have come forward for the release. Krishna Prasad hints that the seasoned distributors trust his judgement. After all, he has been in the business for decades and has produced titles such as ‘Aditya 369’.

Speaking to the media in Hyderabad, Krishna Prasad said that ‘800’ is not only emotional but also has inspirational scenes. Madhur Mittal, who played Muralidaran, has nailed it with his performance. “I came on board in August when MS Sripathy requested me to take over the project. Muralidaran was happy with the decision. I have been informed about the progress of the project for years even when I had no stake in it. Sripathy is someone I have known since the mid-2000s,” Krishna Prasad says, confirming that the ‘800’ director’s next film is also with him.

The budget of the film went up because the film had to be shot in real stadiums and amid crowds. The CG touches could only have helped so much.

‘800’ is going to be released in theatres on October 6 in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. The film has music by Ghibran.
