Actor Siddharth garnered a substantial fan following in Telugu cinema with films like ‘Nuvvosthanante Nenoddantana,’ ‘Bommarillu,’ and others. The actor recently visited Hyderabad to promote his new movie ‘Chinna.’ During the event, he became emotional and felt ignored by the Telugu film industry.
After a big break in Tollywood, Siddharth was seen in ‘Mahasamudram,’ which unfortunately turned out to be a flop. Frustrated with his dwindling success, Siddharth decided to produce and act in a film titled ‘Chitta,’ which was released in Tamil and received positive feedback.
It managed to collect over Rs. 11 crores in just five days. However, Siddharth was disheartened because, despite its success in Tamil, no one came forward to buy the rights for a Telugu release.
Siddharth revealed that Udayanidhi Stalin had purchased the film in Tamil, praising it as the best he had ever seen. The biggest distributor in Kerala also acquired the film. In Kannada, it was released by the makers of ‘KGF.’ However, when it came to Telugu, Siddharth felt that his film was not given a fair chance, with distributors expressing doubts about its reception in the Telugu market.
Siddharth believed that if he made a good movie, the audience would support it, irrespective of his stature in the industry. At this point, Asian Sunil approached him and offered to distribute the film in Telugu, assuring Siddharth of their support.
Siddharth expressed his gratitude to them for their faith in his project and willingness to distribute it in the Telugu market.
On that note, Siddharth also mentioned that in a span of a decade from 2013 to 2023, Siddharth was only asked for three movies, including ‘Maha Samudram.’
