One of the biggest back-fired films in recent times is director Srikanth Addala’s “Peddha Kapu 1” that released last week. No matter what anyone said about this movie, the director maintained that it was going to be a terrific film of sorts that would take audiences by surprise. However, the film has bitten the dust at the box office in no time. And now, reports are doing rounds that the producer is completely upset with this happening.
Mriyala Ravinder Reddy, who owns the No. 3 iron mining and iron-making factories in Telangana, produced this film after Akhanda. With the hero being his wife’s younger brother, the producer invested almost ₹38 crores as per the reports to carve out this film. However, he hoped that the movie would do minimum guarantee at the box office and he could come out unscathed in terms of recovering the budget. But all the dreams got quashed after the film’s shocking failure. When Addala tries to discuss the Part 2 other day, the producer is said to have breathed fire, saying that he needs more time to recover from the shocker.
However, after this discussion, the blame game started with the producer pointing out mistakes in the screenplay and Addala started arguing that the producer had insisted on putting an unnecessary budget in the movie to increase the production values. Well, that’s an inside story, but usually, that always happens when a film flops, isn’t it?
