Thalapathy Vijay and director Lokesh Kanagaraj have reunited for the upcoming action thriller “Leo.” The film is set to release on Thursday, October 19, and has generated significant interest among Tamil movie audiences, thanks to its captivating teaser. However, a particular dialogue delivered by Thalapathy Vijay’s character, Parthiban, in the “Leo” trailer has sparked controversy.
In the scene, Parthiban (played by Vijay), while venting to his wife, portrayed by Trisha Krishnan, uses a strong word to address his enemy. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj addressed this controversy in a recent interview.
When asked about his response to the controversy, Lokesh Kanagaraj clarified that the dialogue was not spoken by the actor but by the character, Parthiban. According to the director, the use of that particular word was essential for that scene as it accurately conveyed the emotions of the protagonist to the audience. He also mentioned that he would take full responsibility for including such a dialogue in the film.
“When we were about to shoot that scene, Thalapathy Vijay asked me, ‘Is this okay? Will it be problematic if I say this?’ I convinced him that it was the right choice for the character and the scene. I’ll take full responsibility for it.” explained director Lokesh.
