With Natural Star Nani also confirming the release date of “Hi Nanna” as December 7th, finally the confusion that was created due to the postponement of Superstar Prabhas’ latest film “Salaar” to December 22nd, got cleared. But then, it also highlights the fact that distributors and exhibitors are only having two weeks’ time in hand to do the magic.
While Nani is locked 7th, already the likes of Varun Tej’s Operation Valentine and Nithin’s Extra Ordinary Man have locked 8th as the date. At the same time, though some postponement rumours are being heard, for now, Vishwaksen’s latest movie “Gangs of Godavari” is also set for an 8th December release only. In case if all these movies hit cinemas as promised, surely they will have time only till 22nd December to recover their investments. For that to happen, these movies should get a blockbuster talk unanimously.
The surprising thing about these four films is that there is not even one experienced director in them who could deliver a hit film. While Hi Nanna is carved by newcomer Shouryuv, Operation Valentine is also directed by newbie Shakti Pratap Singh. Gangs of Godavari director Krishna Chaitanya has done a couple of movies earlier without scoring a hit, while Extra’s Vakkantam Vamsi also flopped with the director on his debut previously. Let’s see what happens in the first week of December anyway.
