Prakash Raj is the one who has won five national awards for his role in films like Antahpuram and Iruvar gave a fireworks speech last night at a bash hosted by Mythri Movie Makers to felicitate Allu Arjun, Devi Sri Prasad and others who have won National Awards for their work on Pushpa and other films.
“Why does the cinema industry come together to honour people like Allu Arjun who has won a National Award? If Bunny won the National Award, it’s a proud matter for all the actors; if Rajamouli goes to Oscar, it’s a proud matter for all the Telugu industry and Telugu folks”, articulated Prakash Raj.
Taking his complaint further, the versatile actor questioned when would stars and other fellow colleagues join to honor such victories. He added, “I’ve seen Bunny from the stage where he used to come with a small camera to record my performance. During Gangotri days, I predicted that this boy would grow. Only due to sheer hunger to deliver something big, he has reached this stage today. I feel like my son got a National Award today”.
“If we look at the history of National Awards, Telugu cinemas never made it big. But now, the nation’s best actor is from Telugu, music directors are from Telugu and directors are from Telugu. Today we have to feel proud of their achievements. Young directors are present here, but where are the biggies? When Telugu cinema is transcending boundaries, our own family should honour them first”, he further articulated.
