Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja recently ventured into new territory with the release of ‘Tiger Nageswara Rao.’ Directed by Vamsee and produced by Abhishek Agarwal, this film marked an important step in his career. Not only was it released in Telugu, but it also found its way to Hindi. The actor had high hopes for this movie, believing it could open doors in the Hindi film industry. But, everything went in vain.
Ravi Teja went the extra mile in his commitment to the Hindi version. Not only did he lend his voice to the Hindi dubbing, but he also traveled to Mumbai, where he spent several days promoting the film. Interestingly, the film received more attention and promotion in Hindi than in its original Telugu version.
The success of films like ‘Pushpa’ and ‘Kantara’ demonstrated that good content can transcend language barriers and draw audiences without extravagant promotions. Unfortunately, ‘Tiger Nageswara Rao’ did not seem to follow suit. While it gained more recognition in Hindi-speaking regions, it struggled to find an audience there.
The movie’s title character, Nageswara Rao, is a renowned thief who boasts about his exploits. However, many critics and viewers pointed out that the film failed to adequately portray how he executed these thefts, leaving a noticeable gap in the narrative.
Additionally, the movie’s lengthy runtime, exceeding three hours, raised concerns about its content. The lack of a compelling storyline and character development contributed to the film’s box office struggles.
‘Tiger Nageswara Rao’ features Nupur Sanon and Gayatri Bharadwaj as the heroines, alongside senior actors Anupam Kher and Nasser. The trade analysts reported poor collections, indicating its lukewarm reception.
