Superstar Prabhas’ latest movie “Salaar” is set for a December 22nd release and the final copy is almost ready now with all the visual effects works reaching a final approval point. At this juncture, the makers are making sure to sell out all the theatrical rights and when it comes to Telugu states, already few people grabbed rights for some areas and it looks like the business for all the Telugu areas got closed.
With all the sales figures included, the makers of Salaar are said to have sold out the Telugu theatrical rights of the Prabhas, Prithviraj and Shruti Haasan starrer for nearly ₹175 crores. The movie has to collect nearly ₹300 crores gross in the full run to make sure that all the distributors end up recovering their investments with simple profits.
Previously, Prabhas’ Adipurush was sold for ₹115 crores to Telugu states, and the film managed to get ₹120-130+ crores gross (75+ crores share) in its full run, thus causing losses. But if a Prabhas film could manage 75+ crores share with flop talk, imagine what could it do with a blockbuster talk. That’s where the distributors of the film are locking their bets now.
On the other hand, the worldwide ‘theatrical’ business of Adipurush is at ₹250+ crores, and now, the flop show of this Om Raut directorial is not at all affect Salaar business. As this new film is directed by none other than Prashanth Neel, the makers make nearly ₹500 crores from the sales of theatrical rights alone.
