Sankranthi 2024: Two Films To Opt Out Of Release?

Published by

One of the biggest box office battles will be witnessed very soon through the Sankranthi 2024 release clash. As the festival season is a huge one for the Telugu Film Industry in general, a couple of big films have laid their hands on the dates while some others are struggling to hold the date, due to theatre issues.

With Dil Raju’s backing, already “Guntur Kaaram” is a strong contender which locked the January 12th date. While the film is produced by Sithara Vamsi, the film’s Nizam rights are acquired by Raju. At the same time, Dil Raju has his own “Family Star” set for Sankranthi’s release, and they have locked January 13th already. Joining this race is Venkatesh’s Saindhav, which is trying to come up on January 13th, and has Suresh Babu’s backing for his brother, to get landed in the right theatres. Then comes Nagarjuna’s Naa Saami Ranga, which might target 14th/15th release, and Annapurna Studios has its own set of theatres to facilitate this film.

Reports are doing rounds that Peoples Media Factory, which has confirmed that Raviteja’s Eagle is ready for Sankranthi release, is now struggling to get theatres. At the same time, director Prashanth Varma’s latest movie Hanu-Man which has fixed a Sankranthi release date long back, is said to be finding it tough to get right theatres. Talk is coming up from distribution circles that these two films might opt for a change in release date, a week before or later, than on Sankranthi eve.
