For reasons unknown, there are too many films in November as well only the coming Friday has a sorted-out plan when it comes to Telugu film releases. This weekend, we are going to witness the release of Tarun Bhaskar’s Keeda Cola, Satyam Rajesh’s Polimeraa 2, Palasa fame Rakshit’s Narakasura and a couple of other small films like Vidhi hitting cinemas. Here’s what happened to the next releases.
Earlier, Mega hero Vaishnav Tej’s Aadikeshava was supposed to hit cinemas on Nov 10th, and today Sithara Entertainment’s Naga Vamsi announced that due to the ongoing Cricket World Cup, they are postponing the film to November 24th. With that, 10th got locked with dubbed films mostly, including Karthi’s Japan, Karthik Subbaraj’s Jigarthanda, Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 and Hollywood movie The Marvels. While films like Mangalavaram and Spark locked 17th, even the sequel film of Kannada movie Sapta Sagaralu Daati, Side B, is set for the same date. None of the films are seriously promoting those movies as of now.
That brings us to the 24th, as Aadikeshava locked this as a new date after postponing for the fourth time. Also, Geetha Arts’ film Kotabommali PS, a remake of the Malayalam movie Nayattu, has locked on the same date. While these are the updates for now, distribution circles are opining that some more movies might opt out of the locked dates, as Kalyan Ram’s Devil already moved out of the 24th. They haven’t locked the new date.
With November being World Cup month until the 19th (Final match date) and November 30th being the election date in Telangana, the cricket and political heat has upset plans of a few Telugu films by throwing some bouncers, as distributors feel that the footfalls will be low during this time.
