The recent revelation of Janhvi Kapoor’s first look in the upcoming Jr. NTR’s movie, “Devara,” has created quite a buzz. Styled in a half saree with a green blouse, blue dupatta, and lehenga, she adorned herself with a simple black thread neck chain, hoop earrings, plain bangles, and a cute nose ring. Her overall appearance, with a cute bindi and a simple hairdo, exuded the charm of a village belle as she posed with hands gracefully placed on her waist.
However, keen-eyed audiences were quick to draw comparisons with the iconic village belle looks of Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Ramalakshmi in “Rangasthalam” and Rashmika’s Srivalli in “Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1.” The similarity lies in the simplicity of the half saree, complemented by bindi and nose ring, portraying a quintessential village girl look. Interestingly, the differences arise in the treatment of the characters by directors Sukumar and Koratala Siva. While Samantha and Rashmika embraced full glam looks in Sukumar’s movies, whereas Koratala Siva’s heroines tend to lean towards less glamour and more emphasis on acting. As Janhvi Kapoor steps into the role of Thangam in “Devara,” audiences are left intrigued, eagerly awaiting to witness the unique portrayal that director Koratala Siva is known for.
The anticipation is high as fans await the unveiling of the character dynamics, wondering how Thangam will stand apart in this narrative of beauty, simplicity, and the director’s distinct touch. April 5, 2024, marks the highly awaited release date of the film.
