The Overdose Of Re-release Trend Makes It Bitter

Published by

A re-release of a blockbuster movie of a hero excited the fans and audience and that doesnot mean all his old movies would do. This trend has become an overdose off late and slowly leaving the buyers in losses. This greed of cashing on fans’ emotions eventually puts an end to re-release trend but it has to be seen when.

In the latest example, Chiranjeevi’s blockbuster hit Shankar Dada MBBS is all set for release tomorrow and the booking are not on the expected level. Except for the two or three screens at the RTC crossroads, Shankar Dada MBBS is not making much noise.

The over enthusiasm to cash on old movies of star heroes has dented the collections of fresh releases as well as the good movies in the re-release. Taking the public for granted the exhibitors are bringing the movies that were disasters back then and also when they are available for free on YouTube.

They are even searching for films in last 20 years which can be released again. With the ticket prices, even the hardcore fans who once took the re-release collections seriously have now slowed down.

Well, there are more re-releases lined up like Adhurs, Rajinikanth’s Muthu and Sivaji coming in November, Raviteja’s Venky planned for December release. In a surprising fact, Dhanush’s dubbing movie Simha Puthrudu is gearing up for re-release in Telugu and it can be understood how overdose this trend has become.
