The much-anticipated trailer for Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix film, “The Archies,” was unveiled on Thursday, featuring its lead actors, including newcomers Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan, and Khushi Kapoor.
Offering a glimpse into life in Riverdale, a charming hill station, as well as the romantic entanglements of the ensemble cast, the trailer provides the best look yet at this coming-of-age movie based on the beloved Archie Comics.
Produced by Tiger Baby Productions and directed by Zoya Akhtar, the story is set in 1960s India, where Archie and his friends navigate romance, friendship, and the future of Riverdale, threatened by developers aiming to destroy a beloved park.
Agastya Nanda portrays Archie Andrews, Khushi Kapoor takes on the role of Betty Cooper, and Suhana Khan plays Veronica Lodge.
The movie, scheduled for release on December 7th this year, also features Vedang Raina as Reggie Mantle, Mihir Ahuja as Jughead Jones, Dot as Ethel Muggs, and Yuvraj Menda as Dilton Doiley.
“The Archies” marks the Bollywood debut of several of its lead actors, including Suhana Khan, the daughter of Gauri Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, Khushi Kapoor, the daughter of late Sridevi and Boney Kapoor, and Agastya Nanda, the grandson of Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan.
