One film that is facing lots of issues ever since its inception is none other than, Vikram’s Dhruva Natachitram, which has the super-talented Gautham Menon producing and directing it. The film was supposed to be released today (Nov 24), but the Telugu version release is not happening, while the Tamil version is in complete confusion. Here’s the story.
Dhruva Nakshatram was started with Suriya in 2013, got shelved, and restarted in 2017 with Vikram in the lead. But then, due to financial constraints, the film was in the production pipeline for a long time and missed out on the release dates many times already.
Even in his latest interviews given to Tamil media, director Gowtham Menon, who also produced the film, clarified that the court cases on this Vikram starrer, which is titled Dhruva Nakshatram in Telugu, got cleared, but they have to still pay it to 3-4 investors. Though he expressed confidence that he would be paying them off in the next couple of days, it is coming out that the loans didn’t get cleared, and hence the film’s release is kept on hold again.
While Tamil theatres opened bookings, surprisingly the Telugu bookings didn’t even open. Sources related to the film’s release confirmed that they don’t have any clarity about the Telugu version release. If the film missed today’s slot, surely there are no more slots available until January ending anyway for the film to get a big release. Meanwhile, Vikram’s other movie Thangalaan is getting ready for January 26, 2024 release.
