Mega Prince Varun Tej took his time to begin his new film Matka, for various reasons. The actor needed to undergo a physical makeover for the movie and has been prepping for it for the last 6 months. The actor who is working out rigorously will sport a mean and lean look.

Meanwhile, preparations are underway to kick-start the shooting of this Karuna Kumar directorial. The regular shoot of Matka will begin in December, as officially revealed by the makers. This period action drama is based on true events which shook the entire nation. As the story spans 24 years, we can lot of variation in Varun Tej’s looks in different timelines. There will be a total of nine action blocks in the movie to be choreographed by 4 different stunt directors.

A huge set depicting old Vizag city is being constructed on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Produced by Vyra Entertainments, Matka will be made at a Pan India level on a massive budget. Nora Fatehi and Meenakshi Chowdary will play the leading ladies. Nora Fatehi took training for her character in the movie.
